Evaluation - What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
This is our Final music video which received great feedback after it was shown at the cinema as seen below:
The video was then shown again to our class some these were some of the comments:
Charlotte's performance was great
Good use of green screen
Variety of shots good use of close ups as it is of indie pop genre
Chereography suited song in video so did props
locations not typical from our genre, autumnal vibe despite the song being happy
Misc en scene didn't look right
Great editing to the beat
Colourful. use of animation and speech bubble effective
Strong narrative
From this I learnt that we should of used locations that fitted in better with our genre and the style of the song the comment about the autumnal vibe i agreed with and felt it didn't suit the song's happy vibes. The reflection from the audience also made me look at the video at a different angle as somebody mentioned that the use of animation was effective which i personally didn't like as well as the text which was shown in the middle of the video. If i could do it again in the beginning of the video i would of used text to introduce the artist as i later realised this was present in many artists of our genre's music videos for example Kate Nash, Lily Allen and Eliza Doolittle which were our influences. In addition i learnt that the narrative, although it was good could of been better as the narrative became less illustrative as the song went on, so it wasn't as consistent as it could of been.
This is simply a list of the feedback, you must read the handout that Becs gave you and read the 'What should you cover section?' section, as you haven't provide enough analysis.
