Analysis of 3 Advertisements that relate to your genre.

Analysis of 3 Advertisements that relate to your genre.

LILY ALLEN

This advert looks relatively simple, basic and straight to the point.
The advertisement also has links to the actual album ‘The Fear’ where it has a pale pinkish colour. Although Lily Allen is not wearing the same dress or same hairdo, we can guess it is from the same album considering Lily chose a different look rather than her modern, hippy look she normally wears.
It has the normal conventions of an advertisement of showing the links to her myspace and website. The description just shows that the album is playing, possibly it was from online as it has ‘links’ on the advertisement. The genre it portrays in my opinion would be indie, which represents her type of music she makes.

LADY GAGA

The advert is very heavily photo shopped, showing different effects on the artist itself and on the backgrounds. The colour scheme is mainly greenish tints and grey, which portrays a professional look although the contents are simple, the overall advertisement is very effective and appealing. The image of Lady Gaga on the poster establishes her iconic look, with the bold haircut and her unique look. It contains in the corner a promotion of the actual album in the cover, which matches the same haircut, therefore showing the link between her album and the advert. The advert is advertising the oncoming ball where Lady Gaga would perform. The genre it represents would be pop, techno type of music, which is mainly all upbeat. The type of music we are doing is 'indie pop' but it is very upbeat and catchy such as Lady Gaga's music.

KATY PERRY

The colour scheme for this advert is mainly pink and white. On the top half, it shows the actual artist and below has a description of upcoming concert of Katy Perry by booking through an airline.
Although it does not show a clear link between her album and the advert, we see the iconic look she displays in most of her photos which is her bright coloured lips, and the title font of her name which is shown in most album covers.
The layout is very smart as it can still contain lots of description without being too overcrowded and contain the vital information it needs. The genre it portrays is heavily based on female viewers, so it would be based on pop.
